Fit Wear ("Fit Wear", "we", "us") is a Chrome extension that lets you try on clothes you see on shopping websites, live, using your camera and AI. This policy explains what information Fit Wear uses, why, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it short and plain.
Summary
- We use your Google account name, email and account ID so you can sign in and so your free time and any credits you buy belong to you.
- During a try-on, your live camera stream and the clothing image you pick are sent to our AI provider, Decart, to create the try-on video. We don't record or store your video.
- We keep a device ID (a one-way code made from your computer's hardware details) and briefly your IP address, only to give each computer its free 3 minutes once and to prevent abuse.
- Payments, when available, are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.
- If you send us feedback, your message and the name you enter may be shown on our website after we review it. Your email is never shown.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or track your browsing.
1. Information we use
Google sign-in
When you click Sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and Google account ID with Fit Wear. You approve this on Google's own screen. We use them to:
- show who is signed in, inside the extension;
- keep track of your free time, purchased credits and subscription;
- confirm on our server that each request really comes from your Google account.
Your browser keeps your name, email, account ID and a temporary Google sign-in token in the extension's local storage on your computer, so you stay signed in. Signing out removes them.
Camera, microphone and the clothing image
When you click Connect, your browser asks for camera and microphone permission. During a try-on session only:
- the live stream from your camera (which may include microphone audio) is sent directly from your browser to Decart over an encrypted connection, so Decart's AI can render the clothing on you in real time;
- the clothing image you right-clicked (or the image link you entered) is sent to Decart as the item to try on.
Fit Wear does not record, save or keep your video or audio, and it never passes through our own server. The stream stops when you click Disconnect, when your time runs out, or when you close the panel. Decart processes the stream under its own privacy policy: https://docs.platform.decart.ai/resources/privacy-policy.
The optional fit hint (body-proportion estimate) runs entirely on your computer. The body-tracking model is downloaded from Google's model hosting, but your camera frames are not sent anywhere for it.
Save image saves a picture of the try-on to your own computer. Nothing is uploaded.
Device ID and free time
Each computer gets 3 free minutes of try-on time in total. To make that work, the extension creates a device ID: a one-way code (a SHA-256 hash) made from basic hardware details your browser can see (graphics chip, number of processor cores, memory size, screen size and timezone). The raw details never leave your computer, only the code does. Our server stores, for each device ID: the free time left, how many sessions have been started, and the Google account ID that first used the free time on that device.
IP address
To stop people from creating many free trials, our server counts how many new free trials start from each internet (IP) address per day. That count is stored with your IP address and is deleted automatically after 2 days. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may also keep short-term technical logs of requests (including IP addresses) for security and troubleshooting.
Payments (when available)
Paid credits and subscriptions are handled by Stripe on Stripe's own secure checkout page. We send Stripe your email address and Google account ID so the purchase can be added to your account. We never receive or store your card details. Stripe tells our server when a payment succeeds, and we store your credit balance and subscription status. Stripe's privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy.
Feedback and comments
If you use the Feedback page (https://tryfitwear.pages.dev/feedback), opened from the extension or our website, we receive what you type into the form: the kind of feedback, your message, the name or nickname you enter, your email address if you choose to give it, and the Fit Wear version number (filled in automatically). The form is run by Google Forms, and the answers are stored in a Google Sheet in Fit Wear's Google account.
After we review a message, we may show it publicly on the Feedback page, together with the name you entered, the date, its status (for example "Fixed") and our reply. We never show your email address. Please don't put personal details in your message. To have a message removed, email fitwearsupport@gmail.com.
2. What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your personal information.
- We don't show ads and don't use your data for advertising.
- We don't read or record your browsing history. Fit Wear can run on any website only so the "Try this on with Fit Wear" right-click option works wherever you shop. It only acts on the image you choose.
- We don't use your data to decide creditworthiness or for lending.
- We don't record or store your camera video or audio.
3. Google user data: Limited Use
Fit Wear's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:
- Allowed use: we only use your Google name, email and account ID to provide Fit Wear's single purpose, virtual try-on, which means signing you in and running your free time, credits and purchases.
- Allowed transfer: we only share this data with the providers listed in section 4, when needed to run Fit Wear, or when the law requires it.
- No advertising: we never use or transfer this data for ads, and never sell it.
- No human reading: nobody at Fit Wear reads this data unless you ask us to (for example in a support request), it's needed for security or to investigate abuse, or the law requires it.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers needed to run Fit Wear:
| Provider | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your sign-in token, which our server sends back to Google to check it | Sign-in | |
| Decart | Your live camera stream and the clothing image, during a session | Creating the try-on video |
| Cloudflare | Requests to our server, including your device ID, account ID and IP address | Hosting our server and storing your free time and credits |
| Stripe (when available) | Your email and Google account ID at checkout | Taking payments |
| Google (Forms and Sheets) | What you write in the feedback form | Collecting and storing feedback |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
- Free-time records (device ID, time left, first account ID): kept while Fit Wear operates, so the free time can't be claimed again.
- Credits and subscription records: kept while you have an account with us.
- IP-address trial counts: deleted automatically after 2 days.
- Camera video and audio: never stored by us.
- Feedback messages: kept until you ask us to delete them or we no longer need them.
- Information on your computer (sign-in details in the extension's storage): removed when you sign out or uninstall the extension.
6. Your choices and rights
- Sign out at any time from the Fit Wear panel.
- Stop camera access by clicking Disconnect, or remove the camera permission in Chrome's settings.
- Uninstall the extension at any time from
chrome://extensions. - Remove Fit Wear's access to your Google account at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Ask for a copy or deletion of your data: email fitwearsupport@gmail.com from the Google account you used. We'll reply within 30 days. We may keep the minimum record needed to stop free time from being claimed again on the same device.
Depending on where you live (for example the UK, EU or India), you may have extra rights under local law, such as the right to complain to your data protection authority.
7. Security
Connections between the extension, our server, Google, Decart and Stripe are encrypted (HTTPS and secure real-time connections). Our secret service keys are kept in Cloudflare's secret storage, never inside the extension. No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Children
Fit Wear isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has used Fit Wear, contact us and we'll delete the related data.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above, and for important changes we'll tell you in the extension or on our website.
